Why purchase travel insurance?

It won't surprise you that we think you should purchase travel insurance when you go on holiday, but why?

Travel insurance is your safety net. Designed to safeguard your trip, our policies offer financial protection and peace of mind, so you can enjoy your holiday. If you’re unable to travel due to a change in your health, resulting in cancellation of your trip, then your travel insurance policy will step in. Likewise, if you’re travelling and find yourself in the midst of a medical emergency, your One Tree Travel policy will be there for you.

Here are some key reasons why we think it’s a good idea for you to purchase travel insurance:

Cancellation

Planning a holiday is super exciting, but it’s important to remember that things don’t always go to plan. Travel insurance can help reimburse your non-refundable expenses if you fall ill before you travel, a family emergency arises or if you're denied boarding. You'll be covered to reclaim the costs of pre-booked accommodation and travel expenses.

Medical emergencies

A medical emergency abroad could soon put a stop to the fun. Rest assured; the One Tree Travel policy provides access to a 24-hour medical assistance team via a dedicated support line, there to help arrange critical medical care, evacuation and to cover hospital expenses. All in a simple telephone call.

Medical conditions

Put simply, a pre-existing medical condition is a health condition that exists prior to the purchase of a travel insurance policy. You’ll be asked to declare any pre-existing medical conditions during the customer quote journey, so that your insurer has the required information to assess the risk of providing cover for you and your trip. Once declared, the policy coverage is extended to include cover for your pre-existing medical conditions. For example - If you’ve suffered a previous heart problem and have declared this when purchasing travel insurance, you’ll be covered if a complication arises during your trip and you require medical attention at hospital.
