Here's your One Tree Travel May round-up!

As a new company looking to be at the forefront of sustainable travel, we feel we have a duty to report back to you, as our valued customers and supporters, on what we’ve been up to.

We’ve got lots of ‘green’ goals to hit so keeping accountable is really important in helping us achieve them. Having reached the exciting ‘one month’ of existence milestone recently, we thought it was only right to create a blog with a detailed summary. Sustainablity journey

Though we’ve got lots to do, we have made progress with one of our objectives; developing our Environmental, Social and Governance framework, or ‘trying to do the right thing’ as we call it.

We have completed an initial assessment of our office's energy efficiency as part of a local Green Business Impact Programme through Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT). PECT are helping us to develop a Net Zero Roadmap as well as other initiatives.

The plans are in motion so we look forward to bringing you more on this soon.

New social media action!

As we aim to get our name and message out there into the world, we’ve been paying more attention to our social media channels. We’re on Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin at the moment and have a content strategy focussed around our sustainability journey, our business growth, the number of trees we’ve planted and more.

It would be amazing if you followed us on any of these channels and also engaged with us, for example by visiting our forest and discovering more about the projects we fund through Ecologi.

Sustainable travel is such an interesting topic that deserves to be discussed so do share your experience with us on social media.

We've joined TOTUM

Another thing that we’re excited about this month is the fact that we’ve joined TOTUM, the UK’s #1 student discount app. With a large membership and a desire from young people to help the planet, this partnership is a win-win and we can’t wait to see how it blossoms.

For every policy solid to a TOTUM member, we’re funding an extra tree through Ecologi, so two trees will be planted every time a member covers their trip with us!

Thanks to you amazing people, and our sustainability partners at Ecologi, we have been able to fund the planting of 78 new trees this month alone! We are very proud of this but there’s a lot of work to do in order to keep this trend accelerating.

The total number of trees we’ve planted to date is 324.
